How to Use a White Screen for Dead Pixel Testing
A white screen is the best tool for finding dead pixels on your monitor or phone. Here's a step-by-step guide.
Dead pixels are annoying. A pure white screen makes them easy to spot. Here's how to test your screen.
What Are Dead Pixels?
Dead pixels are tiny dots on your screen that don't light up. They appear as black or colored dots on a solid background.
Step 1: Open the White Screen
Go to our White Screen page and click Enter Fullscreen.
Step 2: Look for Dark Spots
On a pure white screen, any dead pixel will show as a black or colored dot. Move your face close to the screen and scan carefully.
Step 3: Test Other Colors
Some pixels only fail on certain colors. Test with black, red, green, and blue screens to find all defective pixels.
Step 4: Check for Stuck Pixels
Stuck pixels show as a colored dot on white. Try the red, green, and blue screens to identify which subpixel is stuck.
What to Do If You Find Dead Pixels
If your monitor is under warranty, contact the manufacturer. Many have a dead pixel policy.
